Spotlight: Gus Mouzakis

Gus began working with Hermann as an owner-operator in 2001, transporting freight from New Jersey to Texas. Over time, Gus has proven to be a reliable and conscientious worker who cares about the freight he carries and his customers’ needs.

Now Gus is responsible for making sure his dedicated loads are delivered on a timely basis. Gus’s diligent work has earned recognition from his dedicated clients, including a major cosmetics company based in France, who have acknowledged his commitment to efficiency and professionalism. “I am very proud to represent Hermann Services in such a positive way,” he said.

Gus’ passion for traveling and driving led him to pursue his career of being an owner-operator. “While it was not always easy traveling cross-country, I did not give up. I was determined to make my business a success.”

We asked Gus to describe Hermann in three words, and his response was, “Without a doubt: Family is everything. I have a great

working relationship with the Hermann family. The friends I met there are priceless.” This relationship was further solidified for Gus when he suffered from a massive heart attack in 2022, and he noted how, “the caring and outpouring of support was overwhelming.” Gus has since made a full recovery and continues to drive with Hermann. His family even surprised him with a heart-shaped cake on the one-year milestone since the event.

Gus and his family share many memories with Hermann that he cherishes such as “amazing holiday parties, fun-filled picnics, and the most recent 95th-anniversary celebration.”

In his spare time, Gus enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. “Our Sunday dinners are exceptionally special,” he said. His greatest accomplishment in life is “getting into a healthy lifestyle and trying to enjoy the little things in life.”
