Brothers Chuck, John, and Jim Capra have worked at Hermann Warehousing for over 25 years and are proud to say it has helped cement their brotherhood for life.

Chuck, Warehouse Manager, joined in 1982; Jim, Plastics Division Manager, joined in 1982; and John, Warehouse Manager, joined in 1985.

They follow in the footsteps of their father, Charles Capra who retired in 2002 as Vice President Operations, Hermann Warehousing. He got his start with the company in 1962. Together, the Capra family has worked a total of 117 years for Hermann Services! While some companies frown upon family ties at work, Hermann Services embraces them. In addition to being family owned and operated and having two generations of Capras work at Hermann, there are several other employees who can call other employees family.

The Capra brothers find that their familial ties help smooth operations. “No matter how difficult the work is or how high the pressure may be, we’re able to work together to get the job done,” says Chuck. “Our relationship fosters cooperation,” adds John. “There’s a strong sense of trust among us and no fear of communicating. We all share the same dedication to the company so

I know that I can reach out to one of my brothers for help when the need arises.”

The same is true throughout the organization. “You’ll find that the levels of management are not too thick at Hermann,” Chuck says. “We’re in direct communication with owners of the company on a weekly basis if not daily. Cutting the strokes in decision-making is one of the keys to customer satisfaction. The fact that everyone here is comfortable with each other makes for a more efficient organization.”

“There is a lot of mutual respect among the owners of Hermann, the Capras, and all of our colleagues here,” says Jim. “We have the keys to the door and they allow us to take the reigns. We make each decision in the best interests of the company which boosts productivity and fiscal responsibility.”

“Working for a company that’s been family owned and operated for over 84 years instills a sense of pride in ownership,” adds Jim. “We really take it to heart and treat company property as if it were our own. I even once had a driver call me Jim Hermann!”
