This holiday season Hermann Services is staying local with its corporate charitable work by giving back to the community that has helped sustain it since Fred Hermann founded the company in New Brunswick 88 years ago.

As a leading locally-based logistics and transportation company, Hermann Services has mounted a “Drive Out Hunger” holiday food drive. The company hopes to fill one of its 53′ tractor-trailers with food donations for the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

Terri Hermann, Project Manager, who heads up the Drive Out Hunger program said, “Since becoming involved with South Brunswick Social Services, we have learned how Hermann Services can assist the community in one of the areas where it needs help the most – feeding families who are going without proper food. We have heard many heartbreaking stories. Some people have been forced out of work due to illness. Others are elderly or single parents who cannot make ends meet. For whatever reason, many in our area are going hungry.”

Not only does Hermann Services want to Drive Out Hunger, but also the Food Drive seeks to accomplish it with wholesome food and drinks. High on the priority list are such items as canned soups, vegetables and fruits; peanut butter and jelly; pasta and rice; cereal and oatmeal; juice boxes and bottled water.

“We are very appreciative of the good work that Hermann Services has done for our community over the years,” said LouAnne Wolf, Director, South Brunswick Social Services. “They are a generous, socially-responsible corporate citizen to have in our area.” Earlier this year Jeff Hermann, Executive Vice President, and Hermann Services were awarded the 2015 South Brunswick Township Economic Development Committee Humanitarian Award.
