Employee Spotlights

The Hermann difference isn’t just about logistics, it’s about the people who bring heart, integrity, and excellence to their work every day. This month, we’re celebrating four team members whose stories reflect the culture we’ve built: one where careers flourish, families thrive, and every contribution matters.

Dave Anderson Jr.

Dave’s journey with Hermann began almost a decade ago, starting in 2015 during his senior year of high school.

This career path wasn’t entirely by chance. “I got into warehousing thanks to my father’s 20-plus years of dedication to the company,” he shares, highlighting how Hermann’s family-oriented culture often spans generations. It’s a testament to the company’s ability to foster long-term relationships and create an environment where employees want to build their careers.

Dual Passions Drive Professional Success

When asked about his favorite aspects of the job, Dave’s response reveals the dual nature of what drives him professionally: “My job’s greatest rewards come from two main areas: the valuable interactions I have with associates across different departments and the fulfillment of transforming my passion and creative ideas into impactful training videos.”

“Dave’s commitment to the team is remarkable,” said his manager, John Capra. “For the past 10 years, he’s successfully transitioned his passion into being a key part of our company’s success.” This unique combination of interpersonal skills and creative vision has positioned him as a bridge between departments, helping to create training materials that not only educate but engage.

Artistic Pursuits Fuel Innovation

Outside the warehouse, Dave maintains a rich, creative life that complements his professional role. He finds relaxation and inspiration through painting and attending live music performances – artistic pursuits that likely contribute to their innovative approach to training video creation.

When reflecting on favorite memories from his time at Hermann, Dave’s answer brings both humor and insight into our company culture. “My favorite memory from my time at Hermann Warehouse? Easy. It’s not the thrilling rush of the daily grind, nor the high-stakes drama of operating a forklift. Nope. It’s being a judge at the company cook-offs. Those culinary gladiators never, ever disappoint.”

Building Culture Through Connection

This response perfectly captures the lighter side of Hermann’s workplace culture – where company cook-offs create lasting memories and friendly competition brings teams together. It’s these moments of connection and fun that help build the strong relationships our employees value so highly. Dave’s journey illustrates the opportunities available for growth and development within our organization. It’s employees like him who help us continue building on our reputation of excellence while fostering an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive.

Madaline Peralta

A Practical Start That Became a Passion

Madaline joined Hermann Warehouse three years ago, entering the transportation field for practical reasons: “I got into the transportation field because it was closer to my house and I was getting closer to being a mom.” What started as a convenient location choice has blossomed into a fulfilling career built on meaningful relationships with colleagues and customers.

The Heart of Great Service

Her favorite aspect of the job reveals what drives exceptional service: “The daily interaction I have with my coworkers and customers.” In an industry that can feel purely transactional, her approach reminds us that logistics is fundamentally about people helping people solve problems and meet business goals.

As her manager, Jim Capra notes, “Madaline is a ray of sunshine here at Hermann Warehouse. No matter the challenge, she approaches every customer interaction and every team collaboration with a bright outlook and a genuine willingness to help. Madaline’s ability to maintain a cheerful and constructive presence, even when things get tough, is a testament to her professionalism and dedication. I am glad she is a part of our Hermann team!”

Professional Highlights and Personal Balance

Her standout professional memory exemplifies Hermann’s commitment to excellence: attending her first customer meeting in Connecticut and seeing our CEO receive great feedback. As someone who entered the field while preparing for motherhood, work-life balance remains essential—she unwinds by “spending quality time with my family.”

Wisdom and Authenticity

Madaline offers valuable advice for newcomers: “Learn and try to grow within the company.” Her personal philosophy guides both work and life: “Have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect of you.” This authenticity explains her customer service success. Genuine interactions, honest communication, and staying true to her values create the foundation for the meaningful relationships she values in her daily work.

The Hermann Services Difference

Madaline represents the qualities that make Hermann Warehouse a trusted partner: genuine care for relationships, commitment to continuous learning, and the courage to bring authenticity to every professional interaction. Her journey from practical career choice to passionate professional illustrates how the right environment can transform a job into a calling.

Adrian Hurgoi

From accidental career start to logistics leadership

Sometimes the best careers happen by accident. Just ask Adrian, our VP of Finance Operations, who stumbled into logistics and never looked back. Adrian’s story is refreshingly honest: “Short answer is I fell into it by wanting to help out a business that wanted a partner who would help them manage finance.”

What Drives Him

What keeps Adrian excited about work? “The people I work with, the challenges, the fast pace, and the fact that each day can bring something different that engages our thinking and growth.” If you’ve worked in logistics, you know exactly what he means. One day it’s budget forecasts, the next it’s financing electric trucks. Boredom isn’t really an option.

Favorite Memories

Adrian’s highlights range from company events and community involvement to being part of groundbreaking initiatives, like taking possession of one of the first Class 8 HD electric trucks and securing over $5 million in grants for zero-emission projects.

But he also treasures “the late nights with the DREAM TEAM working on projects, financials, budgets, and month-end” and even travel mishaps like getting “delayed in Dallas for over 6 hours and getting back home at 6 am.”

Life Outside Work

How does he stay balanced? “I am an active person, so anything physical like working out or going to the golf range, or spending time with my fiancé, and some good food.” He works out five days a week and is passionate about fashion and travel, “two things that are expensive, but I believe in enjoying life and making great memories.”

His Philosophy

The best advice he’s received? “Know yourself. I believe Socrates said that: When you truly know your values, strengths, limits, fears, and purpose, you can handle life better.”

Why Adrian Fits Hermann Services

Adrian shows what we love about our team: people who aren’t afraid to dive in, learn on the go, and find ways to grow. Whether he’s working on sustainability initiatives or hitting the golf range, he brings energy and authenticity to everything he does.

Andre Mottas

A Driver with Trucking in His Blood

Andre Mottas is a proud company Driver at Hermann, carrying on a family legacy in the transportation industry. Coming from a generation of truckers, Andre learned early on that this career path offers more than just a paycheck—it’s a way to build a solid living and provide for those who matter most. “I had family members that made a living for themselves doing this,” Andre explains. “It’s a good living to take care of my family.”

That family-first mindset translates directly into how Andre approaches his work. According to Operations Manager, Jerry Bruno, Andre exemplifies what makes a great driver: “Andre is a hard worker, he’s always communicating with dispatch, keeping us updated, and going the extra mile to get the job done right.”

The Freedom of the Open Road

What keeps Andre motivated day after day? For him, it’s all about “independence.” This sense of autonomy allows him to do what he does best while maintaining the work-life balance that’s important to him. When he’s not behind the wheel, Andre has a simple routine for unwinding: “Go home and watch the news,” he says. He also cherishes spending time with his family, particularly attending his son’s college football games that make all those miles on the road worthwhile.

Words of Wisdom for Fellow Drivers

Andre has invaluable advice for anyone new to the trucking industry. “Have a lot of patience on the road,” he emphasizes. “Be courteous to your fellow truck drivers, everyone’s trying to do the same thing: get home safe.” This philosophy of mutual respect and safety-first thinking exemplifies the professionalism Andre brings to his work every day.

Life Beyond the Highway

Outside of his driving career, Andre runs a mobile detailing business, which he describes as “a stress reliever.” His approach to life is guided by powerful wisdom he once received: “Take responsibility, understand that your life is your responsibility and that includes your actions, choices, and happiness.” When asked about his favorite memory at Hermann, Andre fondly recalls the company’s holiday party, a testament to the strong sense of community and appreciation he’s found here. Andre’s dedication to his craft, his family-first values, and his commitment to safety make him an outstanding member of the Hermann team.
