Three Cs in a Pod – Part 2

a close up of a sign Author : Hermann Services

They say good things come in threes. Hermann Services has certainly found this to be true with our own ‘three Cs in a pod’ – Chuck Capra, Jim Capra, and John Capra.

Chuck, President of Hermann Warehouse Corporation, joined in 1982; Jim, Operations Manager, joined in 1982; and John, Operations Manager, joined in 1985. Their father, Charles Capra started with the company in 1969 and retired in 2002 as the Vice President, Operations at Hermann Warehousing.

Over the years, Hermann Warehouse Corporation has grown, adjusted, and innovated in many ways. Currently, we occupy 2.2 million square feet of storage space with warehouses across New Jersey, Delaware, and Texas. In those spaces we offer bulk, rack, AIB Superior food grade, hazmat, and other types of storage solutions. Even environmentally friendly aspects such as energy-efficient and motion-controlled lighting as well as electric forklifts have made their way into the warehouses.

Q: What do you like about warehousing?

Jim: I like working with others in a teamwork atmosphere with the goal of completing required tasks each day. Warehouse workers need to be team oriented to satisfy our customer’s needs.

Chuck: I like that our business helps serve the public by getting food, essentials, and merchandise to the stores.

John: Every day is different; that presents new challenges.

Q: What have you enjoyed so far with the company?

Chuck: I enjoy seeing our customers, employees and company being successful and all the events Hermann sponsors.

Jim: I like being part of the family that has grown this company to what is today, 96 years after starting. I’m glad that I am a part of the history that has been created. Even though I have worked here my entire adult life (and also during my teenage years as well), I can’t imagine that there are many companies that operate with the knowledge and care for our clients like we do. I have heard many times from our clients that we are their “best warehouse provider ever”.

John: Our employees, our customers, being recognized internally and externally for my efforts and commitment to team success. Also, having the ability to work with my family over four decades.

Q: Have you seen value of being family at Hermann?

John: Yes.

Jim: Having family in a company such as Hermann Services brings personal responsibility, honesty, loyalty and mutual respect.

Chuck: I treat my family members the same as any other individual working for the company. That’s another reason it has been a successful company.

We’re certainly thankful to have the Capras as such an important aspect of our warehousing business. The value they have brought over their many years of business has been appreciated immensely, and we can’t wait to see what good things these three Cs bring next!
