March Employee Spotlights

This March, we’re featuring two employees: a dedicated truck driver, and an outstanding warehouse staff member in Delaware!

Richard Kearns

Rich started driving for us in September 2017 as one of our many dedicated drivers. With almost a decade of experience behind the wheel, Rich offers valuable advice to new drivers like, “Stay alert, don’t drive outside of your comfort zone. Remember your family drives on the same highways you do, so be extra careful around other vehicles.”

“Working with Rich over the past few years has been an absolute pleasure,” said Rich’s driver manager, Mark Barbour. “He exemplifies our core values here at Hermann. If we, either in dispatch or any of his fellow drivers, have any type of problem, Rich is the first person to reach out to help, while always making himself available to anyone who needs advice. He is extremely knowledgeable out on the road and shares this knowledge with anyone who needs it. He is an excellent representative of Hermann out on the road. I am proud to have him as one of my employees, mentors, and as a friend.”

Looking back on his time at Hermann Services, Rich fondly remembers moments of team bonding, saying, “Getting together with a few of my coworkers and grilling out behind the building.”

Outside of work, Rich takes great pride in, “Watching my grandsons grow up, they’re the greatest, love them to infinity and beyond.” This dedication to family extends to his own well-being. If he could have one superpower, it would be, “to stay young, getting old stinks,” he joked.

Rich has demonstrated exceptional commitment to safety while driving for our company. We truly appreciate his dedication over the years.

Danielle Berglund

Danielle is an Inventory and Compliance Manager for our New Castle, Delaware warehouse and she started with Hermann in March 2019.

Picking a favorite memory is difficult for Danielle, but she does cherish her relationship with her coworkers. “What I appreciate the most is that I get to share bits of myself with the people around me,” she said. “In turn, they trust me enough to share bits of themselves with me. The people I get to work with every day are inspirational individuals. I truly look forward to going to work every day.”

Outside of work, Danielle had the opportunity to marry her high school sweetheart whom she started dating 33 years ago. As well as, “spending ten years working as a missionary in Guatemala. We were a part of a group that built houses, provided education, and clean water for the families there,” she continued. “I led a women’s group to innovate new ways to create items to sell with resources available to them. These are just a few things on a long list of beautiful things I have been lucky enough to be a part of and hopefully will continue to do so.”

If she could have one superpower, Danielle would choose to, “Ease pain. So many of us struggle, to be able to give relief to those in need would be very fulfilling. So often we don’t know what to do for others, to have a superpower that would do that would be awesome.” She also added with a chuckle that, “Flying wouldn’t be so bad either, that would just be fun.”
