Full Job Description:

Hermann Services is looking for a full time Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our company located in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. Hermann offers a competitive salary (based on years of experience), medical, dental, and vision coverage, and 401K matching program.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for proactively working with customers to ensure that all receivables are collected accurately and in a timely manner. The position will also assist with other accounting functions as needed.


  • Work with accounting department to insure accounts receivables and accounts payables are handled correctly and timely
  • Reconcile accounting statements
  • Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, and update information as needed
  • Communicate with clients and customers to request and arrange payments
  • Record and track payments in databases
  • Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses
  • Update client accounts based on payment or contact information
  • Respond to customer and employee inquiries in a timely manner
  • Update the customer master file with contact information
  • Work with Billing Department to research any short-paid invoices
  • Positively promotes Hermann Services to existing and potential employees and customers
  • Perform other A/R and administrative duties as assigned by Supervisor

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent data entry skills including alpha-numeric and 10-key
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, including accounts receivable and other accounting functions
  • Previous background knowledge of trucking industry a plus
  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and intermediate knowledge of other MS Office Products
  • TMW, Mcleod and Great Plains experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational skill
  • Excellent customer service skills
