Hermann and Friends Collect Over $60,000 Worth of Toys

January 21, 2012

Toys for Tots Drive a Cheerful Success! Supporters for Hermann Services and Toys for Tots came to our New Jersey warehouse in large numbers to witness the filling of a 53' trailer with toys for needy children donated by our colleagues. We also filled a trailer at our Texas warehouse for the occasion. Hermann employees and our friends collected over $60,000 in new toys to deliver to the US Marine Corps for their annual Toys for Tots Program.

Some of the bigger donors included Roland Foods, USI, Toll, Shamy, Shiper & Lonski, Marylee Evangelista, Product Safety Labs, and Apptec Packaging LLC.

Louis Luethold is someone who has supported Hermann's efforts with Toys for Tots for a long time and is a close friend of the Hermann Family. Here are some words from Louis: "As a former Marine with a government drivers license, I have been greatly involved with Toys for Tots over the years. When I was a Plant Manager in Houston, I met Dennis Hermann (also a former Marine) and used Hermann Transportation for long distance shipments. We immediately became close friends and remain so to this day. When Dennis' son Jeff moved to Houston, I recruited him into the Toys for Tots program. We have filled many trailers over the years. Thanks Hermann Services!"

We also enjoyed support from the South Brunswick Mayor's Office, South Brunswick Public Library, and the Monmouth Junction Fire Department.

Rich Tallmadge, Maintenance Manager, said "I was glad to help out in any way I could. It was great to contribute to the success of the Toys for Tots program and to help in giving toys to children in need."

JD Wilson, Business Development Associate said, "The Hermann employees, their friends, families, and all our customers truly stepped it up and made this year's Toys for Tots Campaign a success. Without everyone's support we never would have filled that truck! So I attribute the programs' success to everyone who helped - and the snow blower machine." Santa even made a special appearance for photographs with kids and all who brought a toy for Toys for Tots.

We would like to thank everyone for their contributions and participation in the event. It was great fun and the children and their parents truly appreciated it. Next year, our goal will be to collect over $100,000 worth of toys.
