Hermann Services has acquired new MaxxForce Tractor Engines in a fleet of new trucks that meet the new 2010 EPA emissions requirements. With MaxxForce, cool diesel exhaust is recirculated back into the engine to reduce emissions before it comes back out.

The fully integrated tractors are manufactured at the International plants in Huntsville, AL and Garland, TX. “These engines are the greenest solutions for the industry,” says Phillip Rulli, VP Sales, International. “Our MaxxForce product
is 100% EPA compliant all the time. When you turn the key and start the motor, you’re compliant.”

“We closely studied all the options available to us and opted to go with the most state of the art, innovative solution,” said Bryan Hermann, Director of Fleet Maintenance, Hermann Services. “In addition to solving the emissions problem, MaxxForce engines offer several benefits far above and beyond any other engine.”

Other engine products comply with
the standards by utilizing urea additive, which requires additional equipment, driver training, and the purchase and storage of urea. If the urea tank runs
dry, engines become disabled. In cold weather the urea can gel, causing significant operational delay.
“MaxxForce Advanced EGR technology allows drivers to focus on the job at hand without worrying about replenishing urea on the road or maintaining extra equipment,”adds Rulli.
